In 1994, the idea for Love Your Pet was born, and our inspiration came from a very special Golden Retriever—Jackson. At just 2 years old, he was accidentally poisoned. As a result, he was unable to walk for 9 months. And having lost almost two-thirds of his body weight, he dropped down to only 28 pounds.

We loved Jackson dearly and believed he had enough spirit and desire to regain his health. That’s when we started searching for the very best diet possible for him since he desperately needed to gain weight. From our research on animal nutrition, we discovered that raw foods contain vitamins and enzymes that are destroyed when foods are cooked.  

It’s when we started feeding him a raw, fresh diet that he started to gain weight and thrive.  Jackson lived another 16 years before he passed away, and his rejuvenation is a testament of the benefit of raw foods. It’s Jackson’s legacy that lives on in every package of our Love Your Pet food. Make it a part of your feeding program, like we did for our boy and still do for all of his furry family members.
